Statement of Intent

Our aim is to provide an affordable, flexible, quality childcare service to parent/carers, enabling them to take up employment, training or further education opportunities.

Skoolz Out will endeavour to provide a positive ethos throughout the establishment. It will achieve this by:

• Ensuring that all children, parents/carers and staff are welcomed and valued as individuals, by respecting their views and opinions.
• Providing a wide range of fun activities and learning experiences within a rich stimulating environment
• Ensuring that all children have freedom to explore both themselves and the world through their freely chosen play
• Ensuring a firm commitment to equality of opportunity for all children to access all areas of the curriculum, irrespective of gender, religion, culture, colour, disability or class
• Encouraging positive behaviour at all times. All staff will set realistic limits for children’s behaviour that will be consistently applied.
• Children will be given recognition for all their efforts and achievements and praised appropriately.
• Working in close partnership with parents/carers and recognising them as the first educators of their children, and the importance of the community that Skoolz Out serves.
• Working effectively with partner organisations and establish positive links with other relevant childcare services.
• Nurturing all children to promote his/her general well being, health, nutrition and safety.

Ensuring that all staff are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and promote the SSSC code of practice.
