Parent and Child Induction Policy

Skoolz Out recognises the importance of working in partnership with parents and carers so that the children are happy to attend Afterschool and all parents feel confident about leaving their child in our care.   When a child has been offered a place at Skoolz Out all parents will be invited to attend the Afterschool with their child/ren prior to their initial start date.  When parents arrive at Afterschool they will be introduced to all the staff that will be responsible for the care of their child/ren of whom one will be allocated as their child’s key worker.  Parents will be able to discuss their child’s individual needs with their key person.

Parents will be asked to fill in a short questionnaire about their child, this will enable the staff to be aware of the child’s individual needs and how the child may need supporting during their first few weeks.

Parents will be offered a trial day, prior to their child starting.

All parents will be given a welcome pack containing information about Skoolz Out. This informs parents of everything they need to be aware of in Afterschool and what they need to provide for their child.

The pack will also include:

  • Registration form
  • Afterschool contract
  • Consent forms

Parents must complete these forms and return them to Skoolz Out before their child’s first day.
